Hema Malini
Hema malini is an Indian film actress, producer, dancer, director and politician but we all know her as Indian film actor. Hema malini is a dream girl of bollywood. She was born on 16 october 1948. Her full name is Hema malini chakravarty. She belongs to tamil family. Her mother name is Jaya Lakshmi Chakravarty, a tamil film producer.People call her Seeta , Geeta and dreamgirl.She is not only actor but also a very good dancer. She had learnt bharatnatyam dance during her childhood. Hema Malini studied at DTEA Mandir Marg. She is very popular for her beauty. That,s why people called her dreamgirl.
Her debut film was Sharafat against Dharmender in 1970. Her pair with Dharmender was a superhit pair of that time. They gave together many hit films like Seeta or Geeta, Raja Jani, Dream girl and nobody can forget Sholay movie where she did the role of Basanti. In sholay movie she was so appreciated by people for her acting, dialogue delivery skill and she became so famous. Every director wanted to cast her for their films.And because of her beauty many actor fall in love with her such as sanjeev kumar , who did the role of "Thakur" in sholay movie. Sanjeev kumar proposed her for marriage but she declined.
Then Jeetendra came to her life but their relation did not last long and she got married with Dharmender in 1979. Dharmender was
already married of that time and had two children sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Hema malini converted to islam and married to Dharmender and they have two daughter Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. She did many different roles in her filmy career such as "a young widow in andaz", "a poor woman in lal pathar" and many more. But She is most remembered for her role of Basanti in Sholay movie. Hema malini established herself lead actress and classical dancer. Hema malini and Dharmendra together did 28 films.
After taking a long break from films she made a comeback with Baghban in 2003 against Amitabh bachchan. Besides of acting she also directed and produced films like "dil ashna hai" and "mohini".
In 1999 she campaigned for the Bhartiya Janta Party. In 2004 she officially joined the Bhatiya Janta Party. In 2014 Loksabha election she defeated Jayant Chaudhary and she was elected to Lok sabha member. Hema Malini has appeared in television serial "jay mata ki", she played the role of Goddess Durga. In her filmy career she recieved the 11 nomination for filmfare award. In 2000 she won the filmfare lifetime achievement award and also the padma shri, the fourth highest civillian award honoured by Government.
