Rajnikanth
As you see many heroes in bollywood but Rajnikanth is different from all of others. I am talking about superstar Rajnikanth. His real name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. He was born on 12 december 1950 in a marathi family in Bangalore city. His mother Jijabai was a housewife and his father Ramoji Rao gaekwad was a police constable.He is the youngest of his four siblings.After his father retierement his family moved to bangalore.He was nine years old when he lost his mother.He had worked as a coolie and in 1973 he became a bus conductor in Bangalore Transport service.He began acting in plays while working in Bangalore Transport Service.He did many plays before started working in movies. He joined Madras film institute to pursue a diploma in acting.
Rajnikanth began his filmy career through Tamil movie 'Apoorva Raagangal'.He had a small role in these movie.He did many negative roles in couple of years.1978 proved to be a turning point of his life. This year his movie 'Bhairavi' was released, it was his first film as a lead hero.He also made his debut in Malyalam movie in 'Alaudin Albuta Bilakhun'.By the 1980 he became a popular actor.The he took a decision which came as a shock to his fans, he decided to quit acting.But then he was convinced to come back and he did with the film 'Billa' which was remake of hindi film 'Don'.In 1983 he made his entry in hindi film industry with the film 'Andha kanoon' where he shared screen with Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.
Rajnikanth married with Lata Rangachari on 26 february 1981 at the age of 31.The couple have two daughters named Aishwariya rajnikanth and soundarya Rajnikanth.His daughter Aishwariya married to tamil star Dhanush on 18 november 2004. And his younger daughter Soundarya work in Tamil film industry as a director,producer and graphic designer. Rajnikanth style of doing action became so popular.After a brief gap he starred in 'Baba' in 2002 which is written by him but it did not meet the expectation at box office and he faced heavy financial losses.He was the highest paid actor of Asia after Jackie Chan.He has won many awards including national awards.If you look at his awards ,it is endless.
Rajnikanth has received many awards and mostly in Tamil.He received his first filmfare award for best Tamil actor in Nallavanuku Nallavan. Rajnikanth has received six Tamil nadu state film awards for his performance in films.Indian government honoured him with Padma bhushan in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in 2016 for his contribution to arts.He was also selected as a Indian entertainer of the year for 2007.The government of Maharashtra honoured him with Raj kapoor award.He was also named by forbes Indian as a most influential indian of the year 2010.In 2014 he was presented with the 'centenary award for Indian film personality of the year' at the 45 international film festival of India.
