In my previous blog I told about the journey of Indian cinema, now move further to tell about further journey of bollywood.Now it is 1990 and it is time for ending of stardom of Amitabh bachchan, rajesh khanna and coming of new actors like Shahrukh khan, salman Khan, Amir khan and Akshay Kumar. They were the new faces of Indian cinema at that time while the actresses are Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawala and Karishma Kapoor. In 1988 Amir Khan made his debut in "qayamat s qayamat tak" movie with Juhi chawla and Salman Khan made his debut in "Maine pyar kiya" movie. Both movies were hit movie and Salman Khan won the debut actor award.
In 1992 Shahrukh khan started his career in "deewana" movie along with Rishi kapoor. And Akshay kumar made his debut in "saugandh" movie. They were the new faces of Indian cinema but in short time they achieved success in their career. People started to follow them. They gave many hit films like dilwale duhaniya le jeyenge, hum apke hain kon etc. Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge is one of the highly grossing movie of Indian cinema. It broke many record of indian cinema and become the highest earning movie of that time.And this movie gave new superstar of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan, people called him King khan.
Since the 1990 the three biggest bollywood movie stars have been the "three khans" Shahrukh khan, salman khan and Amir khan, they have starred in most of the top ten highest grossing movies and have dominated the indian cinema since the 1990 across three decades. During 1990 to 2000 Shahrukh khan was the most successful actor among three khans.That's why people called him king khan.Bollywood is full of versatile actors, different story lines etc. Bollywood is mostly recognize for its music, song and dance. These things made bollywood different from another film industry.
Bollywood has given many legendary singers like Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle , R.D burman , Mohmaad and Mukesh etc. They made bollywood different from another film industry. They all are great and achieved many awards for their singing. In 2000 bollywood began influencing musical film in western world and played a particularly instrumental role in the revival of American musical film genre. Bollywood became the most popular music of the world. A.R Rehman, music composer won oscar award for giving music to "Jai Ho" song in slumdog millionare movie.
