Govinda
Govinda was born on 21 december 1963 into punjabi family. His full name is Govind Arun kumar ahuja.He belongs to filmy background. His father was also a actor. His mother name is Nirmal Devi. His father Arun kumar singh produced a unsuccessful movie and he became ill and due to financial loss his family had to move from bunglow in mumbai carter road to virar. Govinda is the youngest of his brother and sisters so he was given the pet name 'Chi Chi' meaning little finger in punjabi.He has done graduate in commerce from Anna saheb vartak college but he did not get any job so his father suggest him to do work in films.His first lead role was in Tan badan which is directed by his uncle Anand.
Govinda start a new generation in Bollywood. He has a unique identity in bollywood.His unique style of dancing became so popular. People tried to copy his dance but no one match his style.
In 1980-1990 he continuously give many hit movies. He became a biggest star at that time. Govinda and Director David Dhawan pair was a superhit pair. Govinda worked with david Dhawan for the first time in 1989 action film in Taqatwar. Afterthat these pair continuously give many hit movies like 'Raja Babu','Hero no 1','Shola aur Shabnam'. Ankhen fiil was the highest grossing movie of 1994.Many director cast Govinda with Karishma Kapoor, Raveena tondon and Juhi chawala.
Govinda has also worked with many great actors like Amitabh bachchan in 'bade miyan and chhote miyan' and with Rajesh Khanna in 'Swarg'. In swarg he played the role of servant and people praise his role so much and with Kadar khan in many movies.In many movies Kadar Khan played the role of his father and people like their father-son pair. Govinda is a versatile actor , he played many different role in his career. he did many romantic movie, many action movie , many comedy movie and he also played a role of villain in 'Shikari' film which was a commercially unsuccessful movie but people most like his comedy acting.
In 2000 his career went on to down and in 2004 he joined politics. He joined congress party and was elected to loksabha member from mumbai.In 2006 he made his comeback in Bhagam Bhag with akshay Kumar which was a hit comedy movie.After then he has also worked in David Dhawan movie 'Parter' with salman khan.He has won iifa ward for comic role in Partner. Govinda has worked with Shakti Kapoor in 40 films and with Kadar Khan in 41 films.He has also in television. he hosted a game show 'jeeto chhapad phaad ke'.
